With apologies to my non-blogging readers, we’re going to make some sausage here. In other words, discuss the process of blogging.
I have kind of big news that I haven’t shared with you all yet — I’m speaking at a conference. A conference on blogging. Yes, it hardly makes sense to me either. What do I know?
But the more time I spend getting to know other bloggers at our monthly Central Florida Lady Blogger meet-ups and other events, the more I realize just how much there is for us all to learn from each other, whether we consider ourselves “real” bloggers or not.
So next month, I will be taking the stage at the very site of the first (and my only to date) blogging conference I’ve attended, the Central Florida Blogger and Social Media Conference, aka CFLBlogCon.
Gulp.
Thankfully, I’ll have the company. The presentation was the brainchild of Christine of Cook the Story. She asked Michelle of Crazy Running Legs and me if we had any interest in submitting our idea to the selection committee and before we could think about how scary it would be to be picked, we said yes.
And then the selection committee told us they’d chosen our topic, How to Fit Blogging Into Your Life, as one of the sessions at the second-ever CFLBlogCon!
Double gulp.
Here’s the description of our talk from the CFLBlogCon Agenda:
Three women, five children, two full-time jobs outside of the house and one stay-at-home superfoodiemom.
How does it work? How do they balance their families, their jobs and their households with an all consuming “part-time” hobby like a blog? And why would they even be crazy enough to want to?
Christine Pittman, Michelle Wright and Jackie Carlin share their secrets for fitting blogging into their busy, active lives, while still keeping their sanity (and their children clothed and fed).
And yes, now you know my full name. Try not to stalk me.
So, here we are, just about a month out from the conference and we’re in full-fledged planning and writing mode. And it’s so much fun! Already, we’ve each learned so much from each other and here’s where you come in — we want to learn from you, too!
We’ve created a very short, anonymous survey to use in our presentation. It should take you less than five minutes to complete it and the results will really help give us an idea about some of the things that affect you and your blogging life.
We’ll first reveal the results at CFLBlogCon in September, but if you’re not local, I’ll also share what we learned back here after the conference.
The survey is embedded below but if you have any trouble answering the questions on this page, you can also click here to take it.

I look forward to seeing you speak at the conference. Even though I’m not local to the Orlando area I look forward to the conference. I’ve been looking at all the options out there and I was so happy to find this one… one day, driving distance and things I want to learn about!!! I also did the survey!

So I know your name AND your address. Creepy!
I’m not sure if I’m coming to the conference this year, but if I do, I’ll definitely be there to cheer y’all on.
