Last week was brutal. I’ll spare you the full recap, but let’s just say it involved: another ear infection for E. (tubes are looming on the horizon); a sick computer which led to four trips to the Apple store, losing the ability to cut and paste (yes, cut and paste. I dare you to try and go two hours without it and you’ll suddenly realize how much you rely on this basic command) and having to uninstall and reinstall my entire operating system (and Chrome and Open Office, too); and having to miss a day and a half of work due to E’s illness and getting so far behind on some big projects.
But anyway … it wasn’t all bad. We had friends in town because one of DadJovi’s good buddies from our DC days got married on a cruise ship!
Yup, there was a candy bar and we left fully stocked!
I wish more of our friends from the north would get married 45 minutes from us!
Then the week from hell was capped off by Syracuse’s bullshit loss against Marquette in the tournament. You live by the Scoop, you die by the Scoop (although it was nice to see him partially redeemed by the NCAA admitting it screwed up the backcourt call). But anyway…
This week has been my running week. I’m freaking out a bit because I’m doing a 10K on Saturday and I did not run one single step all last week. On Monday I ran 3.3 miles and 4 on Tuesday. By last night, I was banged up and exhausted. So I took today off and I’m going to run again tomorrow.
But things get a little more hectic tonight. My mom’s plane just landed at one airport and my pseudo-stepbrother (his dad and my mom are partners who may or may not get married at some point … hence pseudo-stepbrother!) is landing at another airport in about an hour. Our house is about to get packed but it’ll be fun!
Now, if I can just survive Saturday, hopefully I’ll start getting my mojo back. I just need to get the ships in my life righted. I hate the feeling of complete chaos. But things are slowly starting to come back into alignment. Very slowly.
